Windows

VINYL
The Basics

Many seem to believe all window manufacturers are the same. Like everything else, there is a range in quality of material and engineering. We've heard many times, "a window is just a window." No, they are not.

We carry several options within the window categories. We want to provide the best windows your home and budget. We recommend, you choose.

To find the best for you, the answers lay within the engineering specifications, options, warranties and budget. For example, if you have a product with a 10 year warranty versus a lifetime warranty, you can rest assure the lifetime product is better. Within the lifetime warranty window category there are also significant differences between manufacturers. You can compare the engineering specifications, frame sizes, min/max capabilities and sort which have the best results in the style & options you're looking for. Of course, you can use our research and experience.

BEWARE Get your information from sources promoting multiple window manufacturers. Window Distributors, Suppliers or Installers that promote one manufacturer are typically biased. The sales pitch they throw is engineered to make that one window sound good.

Over 90% of customers use a vinyl window. Austin, Texas weather needs a great energy efficient window and vinyl windows provide the most "bang for your buck."

Vinyl replacement windows using extruded vinyl will never need painting and withstand high temperatures as well as direct heat which can lower energy bills significantly with a good window.

There are a range of vinyl manufactures from budget to premium, not all vinyl windows are created equal. It's important and needs to be said twice, not all vinyl windows are created equal.

FIBERGLASS

One of the main advantages to fiberglass windows is they are a very strong product able to withstand decades of wear and tear. Some up to 70 years. Fiberglass is similar to vinyl in it’s ability to provide energy efficiency and stop the transfer of heat and cold. Fiberglass is a great option for efficient window replacements but can add 30% more to the price of your windows.

ALUMINUM

Aluminum Window Frames are very strong. Aluminum offers very little else when it comes to replacement windows except matching existing aluminum windows and they offer the most narrow frame. Aluminum windows are the least energy efficient type of window frame for a replacement window.

UPVC

UPVC is the big brother to Vinyl. It has all the same energy efficiency benefits but is stronger and more firm. It's a great option and still economical. With uPVC you are able to do European style Tilt & Turn windows and larger windows than vinyl.

WOOD

Wood windows keep cold air out in the winter and warm air out in the summer. Wooden replacement windows are aesthetically pleasing with a range of options from modern to classic. Wood can also be stained or painted to match the rest of your home’s colors. Wood windows are beautiful, energy efficient, and versatile. A lasting classic.

I was able to find the best windows with their process and the installation crew was professional with good communication. Recommend and would use again!
